Hearing aids cause pain in ears

    Hello, I am new here.

I'm wondering if anybody has had the experience of hearing aids causing pain in the ears. It feels like a pain due to pressure changes.

I have been wearing hearing aids for about 4 years now. My old ones were somewhat helpful but I can't hear as well as I should with them. I got new top of the line Phonaks last year and I still struggle to hear clear speech. On top of that problem, I have so much pain in my ears that I had to take the new ones out and start wearing the old ones again. I recently got a head cold with a lot of congestion. On the exact same day, I happened to get my hearing aids reprogrammed. This was the straw that broke the camel's back (unbearable pain + 'autism inducing' undecipherable NOISE.)
