Question Meinere's disease ... Any remedy to ward off balance symptoms?

I am a 50 yr old female diagnosed with meinere's disease. It is actually in remission, as this disease tends to go away for anywhere from a few months to a few years, then *attack* again with just a few minutes notice. My hearing and tinnutitus is thankfully in check, although I have minimal hearing loss, it hasn't affected my life. Anyone have a remedy for the *off balance* symptom, which is actually my only symptom that can be disabling and dangerous, as I'm sure all of you know? Would love to hear what works for you?

Awesome to hear the hearing and tinnitis are doing OK.
    I have BPPV, not Menieres.

Are you dizzy or just off?
Sometimes antihistamines can help. Are you also having sinus issues or allergies (which can exacerbate off balance)? If yes, sinus rinses can be of benefit....and sudafed if decongestion and affected eustachian tubes are an issue. I used it a lot during major bppv attacks.

If you have tight neck muscles or neck issues, massage or chiropractics can be of benefit.

Vestibular rehabilitation and balance exercises would definitely be of benefit.

What works for me is living a healthy lifestyle. Avoiding high calorie processed foods that are low in fiber and nutrition. Avoiding stress and dehydration. Getting moderate exercise, like walking. Everything counts, it all adds up.

I wish I could be more reassuring and say that it's something simple, but it could be vascular vertigo. This means poor circulation (blood flow) to your inner ear and/or poor blood flow to the lower part of your brain. The lower part of your brain is where the balance centers are located and lack of blood flow can cause brain dysfunction and loss of balance.

Without knowing more about you, I can only suggest this as a possibility.
