I have GAD and agoraphobia. Had it for over 6 months. Been on Zoloft for 4 months...my depression had gone but now it's coming back (probably cause anxiety and agoraphobia are still very present).
I have been told that maybe Buspar orXanax could help? Anything else you can suggest?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Buspar is not very effective for panic attacks, anxiety. I hear xanax is pretty good when you start to feel panicky, but I have been on klonopin and it too works wonders!!! Best luck! Keep in touch!

Hi Juju,
zoloft often also stops anxiety and panic attacks, maybe try it again at a higher dose...
xanax as needed reduces anxiety and panic attacks, catty a few tablets with you and disolve 1 under the tongue when anxious or panicky

jujubean, I personally recommend Klonopin (generic is Clonazepam). Buspar made me dizzy for about 20-30 minutes shortly after taking. And it didn't really help my anxiety. Have heard about Xanax working just fine, but I've also heard it is more addicting and you may have a harder time going off it. I have taken Clonazepam several times in the past and it works just great with me. So I would talk to your doctor about either XanaxorKlonopin, but I recommend the latter. MV

I was on buspar for quite sometime and It did nothing for my panic attacks, I also felt dizzy the first 30 min or so after taking the buspar. I am now taking ativan 1mg a day. I don't recomend buspar for panic attacks as it did not help me at all and I am a several a day panic attack girl! good luck

Zoloft and other antidepressants are sometimes not very effective against anxiety. Sometimes anxiety may get worse. XanaxorKlonopin are better for anxiety, though taking them only as needed is better than taking them everyday.
