Help with pelvic US report

I know no one here is a doctor and can make a diagnosis but just wondering if anyone has had similar results and what it entailed. I have a follow up with my gyno on Monday.
Iíll just post the ďImpressionĒ part because thatís what I mainly am confused about. It says:
ďA questionable endometrial polyp measuring 0.8x0.5x0.7 cm is again noted in the anterior fundal region. The uterus is otherwise within normal limits. No worrisome adnexal masses or pelvic free fluidĒ.
I wonít lie, Iím a little concerned about the polyp. Trying to keep it cool though. Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

Re: Help with pelvic US report

The fact that it says "again noted" means that it was seen before on a prior Scan....when were you scanned previously?

Polyps do not necessarily mean anything bad- but they can cause pain and you may want to have it removed. Sometimes they go away on their own; which would be my guess as to why you had a second scan- but nevertheless, there is really nothing to worry about according to your impression.

Re: Help with pelvic US report

@MSNik
That makes sense! Yes, I had a pelvic US May 2017 and the same ďpolypĒ was found. I just received a copy of last yearís US (which was never discussed with me in depth so I was unaware of a possible polyp) and looks like the polyp in question is the same size from last year and both times was marked as questionable as to it being a polyp or something else. Both times Iíve gone for an US has been for pain but this time around I visited a gyno who suspects I have endometriosis. She ordered an US to rule out anything else. Iíll see her Monday and find out if she wants to do anything about the polyp. Thank you so much for replying! Itís users like you that make this forum easy to come to.

Re: Help with pelvic US report

UPDATE: saw my gyno yesterday as a follow up to my US. She wants to do an endometrial biopsy of the thickened area in my uterus. Any tips on how to make the biopsy bearable?? I made the mistake of googling it and keep reading itís really painful. Iíve never had kids so Iím a wimp with pain.
They also found I have BV, yeast infection AND a bladder infection. I just got through a round of antibiotics for a UTI now Iím back on them for this bladder infection...UGH!!

Re: Help with pelvic US report

Hi MEC44,

I am glad that I was able to shed some light on the US- but as for the biopsy, you just have to bite the bullet. You can ask your doctor to prescribe something to make you drowzy prior to the test, but then you can't drive yourself....I am certain she will also use numbing gel before the biopsy itself. I have had them, and yes, they do hurt but only for a split second...as soon as it is over, you stop hurting.

Its amazing that you had all those infections going on and didn't have the symptoms or know it. You are tougher than you think you are! A yeast infection would drive me NUTS and a bladder infection is pretty hard to ignore. Its a good thing your doctor is so up to date on you- shes getting you healthy again! Good luck on your biopsy..let us know how it turns out.
