    Addisonís?

    Hi all,

I have been sick for nearly a year. Almost constant nausea, no appetite, and have lost over 35 lbs. All my bloodwork has come back normal except the fact that I had a fungal infection in my stomach and esophagus, which I guess is fairly rare. My IgA and IgG also came back low for my immune system. I am also extremely tired and have a new onset of anxiety/panic about six months ago, which I have never had up until this point. My doctor has tried 4 anxiety medications and none of them have been effective. I get very shaky and feel like Iím going to throw up when this occurs. Iím just so tired and canít seem to find anyone to believe or help my symptoms. Recently, Iíve developed a floater in my eye as well as dizziness when I go from sitting or laying to standing. Could this be addisons? I just feel so miserable and would love to get a diagnosis. Thank you in advance.

    Dear MLD,

Can you get seen by a different medical group? Doctors in the same medical group tend to support each others' opinions. That's OK but it can prevent us from the thinking that can come from seeing a doctor in a different medical group.

Do you have insurance? What tests have you been given?

    Hugs,

I could go see a different group, though I live in a rural area so it takes awhile to drive to the doctor ☹️ I havenít gotten any tests related to addisons, except a basic metabolic panel/CBC. Iíve gotten an endoscopy for the GI symptoms (nausea, diarrhea), which revealed a nasty fungal infection all throughout my esophagus/stomach. I also had my thyroid tested (TSH/T4) which came back fine. I think she ran a c reactive protein, IGG/IGA, and an ANA panel. All of which came back fine. Iím almost at a loss as to what to do now because I feel absolutely miserable.

    Dear MLD,

What was done for the fungal infection in your stomach and esophagus?

Does anyone know why you got that? Have you recovered? It sure sounds like that might still be a problem.

Really hon I think you need to be seen by a different kind of doctor and one outside your medical group.

    Hugs,

    Re: Addisonís?

They gave me some type of antifungal. I have had no improvement since taking it and have continue having the same symptoms but worsening for sure. My PCP wants to refer me to an immunologist to see if my
Immune system is functioning but the specialist visits are far more expensive so Iíve been putting it off. Thanks for you help, I appreciate you listening!

Have you seen a Ophthalmologist? Eye floaters are very common and the majority of floaters are a non-issue. If you are concerned you should see an Ophthalmologist. I have seen floaters since I was a kid and found them quite entertaining. If you focus on them they will become more noticeable. You can ignore them as long as an Ophthalmologist finds nothing to be concerned about.

This sounds like Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), but a Dr.
would need to determine if it is.

Is a Psychiatrist prescribing the anti-anxiety medications? Anxiety can cause a multitude of physical symptoms. The medications to treat anxiety are the specialty of a Psychiatrist. Anxiety is treatable if the patient is given the right medication or combination of medications.

    Re: Addisonís?

I appreciate that you are trying to help, but this all occurred at one direct point in time. I find it strange that I have never had anxiety, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, 35 lb weight loss up til this point. I feel fatigue everyday and do not think that this could all be caused by random anxiety, including the positive ANA panel that came back today or the low IgG numbers.
