    Lifelong sinus issues/anti-inflammatories

Hi all, 30 years old here, I've had ongoing sinus issues since I was a little girl. I get intense throbbing pains in my sinuses that cause my neck glands to swell, but the symptoms usually disappear in a day or two without seeking medical treatment. I've never been to a specialist but suspect it may be due to a deviated septum (my nose is very crooked!) or teeth-grinding in my sleep. In the past few years the pain has increased in frequency and intensity (at least 2 days every week) which regularly interferes with daily life. I use neti pots, vaporizers, nasal sprays, self-massage, allergy pills, painkillers etc but the only thing that has worked to reduce the pain is ice packs and (in the past) anti-inflammatory pills. Unfortunately due to stomach issues I'm no longer able to take anti-inflammatories, but was curious if there's an effective over-the-counter anti-inflam nasal spray that can reduce the inflammation? Also I'm a foreigner living in Japan with limited Japanese skills so my ability to seek professional help with this issue is limited. And one final question: would antibiotics help someone in my situation? I rarely consult doctors when I get these sinus headaches because they almost always go away on their own so I've rarely taken antibiotics for sinus issues, but am wondering if maybe they would help. Thanks.

You'd only take antibiotics if you have an infection. It seems you don't have any, or do you have ugly greenish discharge?
Even if you had, I wouldn't take antibiotics, only if it doesn't go away after 2 weeks.
It seems you have something else, allergy, deviated septum, polyps, but unfortunately to find out what's causing it, you might need to see an allergist and an ENT.

You can get OTC nasal sprays, not decongestants, but corticosteroids nasal sprays, or saline sprays, or antihistamines. You could give it a try.
