    CT Sinus Scan Results

Hi! I recently had a CT scan for my Sinuses. Can anyone tell me what the following results mean? I have been suffering with sinus issues for nearly 15 years and the ENT thinks it may be migraines not sinus issues? I am confused about how exactly this could be since I am experiencing congestion, sinus pressure etc. Thank you so much in advance!!

    FINDINGS:

Orbits: Globes intact. No fractures or masses.

Frontal sinuses: Clear, with patent frontoethmoidal recesses.

Ethmoid air cells: Ethmoid air cells are clear. Type II olfactory recess on the right and type I olfactory recess of the left.

Maxillary sinuses: Clear. Patent ostia and infundibula of the bilateral ostiomeatal units. No large Haller cell.

Sphenoid sinuses: Clear, with patent sphenoethmoidal recesses. No Onodi cell.

Midface: No fractures or masses. Mild leftward deviation of the bony nasal septum which narrows the left nasal passage. No large spur along the bony nasal septum. No concha bullosa. Mild inferior turbinate hypertrophy.

    Additional Comments: None.

Slight deviated septum and slight atrophy of one turbinate. Looks like you are in pretty good shape with some small issues.

So no real cause of sinus inflammation? No surgery necessary? Thanks so much for replying!

Not for inflammation. If you wanted you could get the septum repaired.
