Looking for advice on Chronic Sinusitis congestion

    HI Folks,

    I'll try to be quick:

I'm a 45 year old male that has for the most part always been strong and healthy.
For the past year and a half I have been suffering with Chronic Sinusitis. I have been seen by three different ENT docs. I have tried antibiotic, prednisone, nasal sprays, etc, etc and have not really found much in the way of relief.
First two ENT docs said I needed surgery to remove nasal polyps. The 3rd ENT doc, a sinus specialist, says that my sinuses are not that bad at all and I should avoid surgery.
(PS: I have also had a ringing in my ears since this sinus problem arrived, but I was told that it is unrelated and was sent for a hearing test. I was diagnosed as having Tinnitus, and of course bad hearing...but that is besides the point. I was still told the Tinnitus is unrelated to my sinus issues).
I don't believe in coincidences, but whatever...I can live with the ringing in my ears....I just want to be able to breath through my nose better.

So, I can basically live with my sinus issues during the day, but they're brutal at night. I get congested and it has really affected my sleep. I'm a drowsy fatigued mess due to not getting a good nights sleep.

I have never had any allergies that I'm aware of at least, but I am waiting to be tested...sometime between 12-16 months from now (because Canada).

Any advice on where to go from here? What to try? I'd like to postpone the surgery as long as possible. I don't feel like the polyp removal will cure my congestion. The only thing I haven't tried is massive doses of vitamin-C. I've only just read about that today.

Any advice from the been-there, done-that crowd?

Thank you in advance for any help.
    Best regards.

    Suggestions are
Netti pot to flush nasal cavities
Steam inhalation from pot of water on stove
    Nasal strips sold in drugstore
    Sniffing cotton doused with menthol
Home remedies cant hurt and have no side effects

    Worth trying----works for me.

OK. I am going to through out some out of the box things you could possibly research.

I suffered from chronic sinus problems for over a decade. Turns out I had multiple things contributing to my sinus problems and causing pain.

    1. Tested and treated for allergies. (I know this one is obvious, but a combination of nasal sprays and immunotherapy really did help to an extent.)

    2. Silent acid reflux also known as LPR. I had extremely severe 'silent' reflux. Silent because I had no heartburn or acid feeling symptoms at all. I did find through testing that I had gaseous acid making it up into my throat and lungs. I ended up with surgery for my reflux since my esophageal sphincter had stopped functioning. One of the major 'side effects' of the reflux surgery was that I stopped getting sinus infections. I went from averaging about 8 mos. of sinus 'infections' a year for almost a decade to not having any sinus problems in the last 8 years. Turns out I had that gaseous acid making it all the way up into my sinuses. I had no idea.

    3. You mention the tinnitus in addition to the sinus pain. You might look into TMJD as a contributor. I have also had severe TMJD issues. Mine manifested as ear problems. I found during treatment that there are lots of facial muscular issues that we often have no idea we are having with the TMJ problems. If you research TMJD, tinnitus and sinuses together, you will find there are some connections. Again, this is something that may seem unusual. As I said, I had severe TMJD issues, but never had typical 'jaw' pain. It can manifest many ways.
