    Looking for opinions

I have had sinus issues for years, and I presently have a sinus infection right now.
My doctor sent me to a ear nose and throat specialist last week, the ENT affirmed that I have a severe deviated septum that limits drainage. He ordered a CT scan of my sinuses, he just called and left a message so I have not spoken with him yet, but I will tomorrow. He says I have a chronic sinus infection that he said is pretty well locked in. he said I have two options.

Option 1: try 30 days of antbiotics
Option 2: functional endoscopic sinus surgery and septoplasty.

I have already been on amoxicillin for about a week, that did not help. So now I am on augmentin, and its been about a week.

So what would you suggest I do as far as options? What are some questions to ask the ENT when I speak with him tomorrow?

I certainly would not look forward to option 2, but I could very well be in ths same spot again.

Any way thanks for any input

I had my deviated septum repaired in my teens and am sooo glad I did. My sinuses drain wonderfully. You can just continue taking antibiotics and do sinus flushes but that's 30 miles of bad road for the rest of your life. Get the problem fixed. I'd get a second opinion as to exactly what procedures you need - just to be sure.
