Sinus Issue: CT Scan Ordered; Thoughts?

Symptoms: congestion right side of nose only; snorting; postnasal drip; occasional sneezing bouts; yellow/light green mucus coughed up on occasion; off and on nasal pain right side only; infrequent headaches; snoring

Visited ENT today and had nasal endoscopy put up nostrils. No polyps or other obstructions detected. Said sinus area looked slightly irritated.

In any event, a CT scan was ordered which kind of kind me off-guard. Sensitive subject because my wife had a nasal obstruction which ultimately turned out to be non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (I realize you can't catch lymphoma)

This a common follow-up? Just trying to see if anyone has been through similar. Thanks.

It will reveal more in other sinuses than just what an ENT can observe with a scope.

I've had x-rays, not ct. Have you had a nasal swab done and a culture of the mucus?

Better to know than not......the fear of what it could be based on your wife's experience is normal.

Please let us know the outcome.....but do have a nose swab done regardless.
