Sinus sufferers- alternative to Augmentin XR?

Just wondering if there is a comparable alternative to Augmentin XR. I've taken a round of Biaxin and a round of Omnicef with little help. I have severe sinusitis that is antibiotic resistant and I was giving Augmentin XR 4000 mg/day for "two weeks after I feel completely better"- meaning I have to take it until I feel completely better, then take it for two more weeks.
I have a hard time swallowing large pills. Augmentin XR can't be cut up or crushed nor can I have a liquid or chewable because of the high dose I need.
It's the last resort before sinus surgery apparently. I didn't know how bad my sinuses were until today when a CT scan showed serious infection in my sinuses behind my cheekbones.
Are nebulized antibiotics as effective? What about injected antibiotics? I really have SUCH a hard time taking the pills I am desperate. But I don't want surgery either. Am I really stuck? Is there anything else that can be done BESIDES Augmentin for severe bacterial sinusitis (that is antibiotic resistant)?

Ask your doc for a glutathione nasal spray. Its an antioxidant spray. I suffered from sinus infection for 10 months, then had nasal polyps. Thanks to the glutathione nasal spray I didnt need surgery. It got rid of the polyps. I have a bit of inflammation above the eyes in my sinuses. Doc said to use Xlear which is a xylitol nasal spray. Its working. The swelling is going down. I use the Xlear spray twice a day. Once in the morning and once before bed. Its important to use it right before bed as it sits in the sinuses and clears up the bacteria. I also chew 1 piece of xylitol gum a day to keep the jaws moving to get appropriate drainage from the sinuses. Also changed my diet. No more dairy product, sugar or bread. I eat oatmeal, soups, fish, etc. I take cod liver oil and wild fish oils everyday. Doc said to use the glutathione nasal spray anytime I get a cold or flu in the future. The ENT was impressed by the glutathione nasal spray. My doc said I bet the specialist will advise his patients to use the spray in the future. I had used so many things before the gluathione and nothing worked. I tried biaxin, cefuroxime, nasonex, flonase and all of those did not work. I didnt think I was going to make it as I was so weak. So gluathione saved my life. Now that Im done with the glutathione spray doc said to take the glutathione supplement.

Question Re: Sinus sufferers- alternative to Augmentin XR?

Is the glutathione spray by prescription only? If not, could you tell us the name of the one you use? Thank you.

Augmentin comes in various doses. Maybe you could take 2 smaller pills instead of one horse pill
