Can Sinus Wash help "sublingual tonsil" problem?

Recently I picked up a Sinus Wash kit.....just a simple thing, a bottle you can squeeze into your nose. Comes with packages of stuff you mix into the water.

I've been doing it once a day for a week now. Oddly enough, it seems like an old problem is clearing up. About a year ago I got a scratchy-throat feeling on the right. My ENT said it was an inflamed sublingual tonsil - a tonsil under the regular tonsil. He said it wasn't cancerous and that there was really nothing he could do. It's never gone away over the year, although the severity goes up and down.

With the sinus wash, the problem seems less. Sometimes I feel like it will go away entirely. Is there any chance that the sinus wash is helping? I wondered if a lingering sinus infection could cause inflammation, and the wash is clearing out the sinuses and allowing my immune system to re-assert itself, both there and in the sublingual tonsil. Does this sound reasonable or am I just imagining things?
