Abscessed baby tooth causing recurrent chronic sinusitis
Does anyone know if there are any alternatives to saving an abscessed baby tooth besides extracting it??? My tooth has been abscessed for many years, but I haven't wanted to get it pulled because it's a tooth that's in my smile line and I don't have the money for an implant. I have recurrent sinusitis (1-3 times a year). They are absolutely awful infections. It's as though I've been beaten with a baseball bat aside my face (right where the abscess is) and it smells like something is rotting inside my nose. My recent infection lasted 2 1/2 months and I had to take 3 different courses of antibiotics to treat it. I still don't think it's totally gone. This has been happening for about 7 years now. I know the two infections are linked, as I saw specialist a couple years back and he said my sinus was running directly through the abscess. The last time I saw a dentist, which was about a year ago, I was told the tooth didn't need to be extracted yet because the abscess hadn't gotten any worse.
Basically I'm sick of always being sick, but scared about needing to resort to having a tooth that I take out at night. I'm only 29. I was happy to come across this message board. It's comforting to know that I'm not the only one......although I do hope everyones pain goes away as soon as possible. Any and all input about abscessed teeth, partial dentures, implants, and bridges would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and good luck to the rest of you!!!!!!!!
