My ears... or jaw....or sinus's?? Please help!?

Hey everyone, I've been looking for an answer to my problem for a long time. I did some reading on TMJ and really thought that I had found my answer, but my dentist doesn't seem to think that my bite problem would cause me TMJ. Sorry if this is long... but I really need some help.

Okay, I'm 33 years old... when I was a kid I had chronic ear infections, had tonsils removed... was better afterwards. I've only had 3-4 ear infections since.

About 5 months ago I had an ear infection. Actually, what I had was different (painwise) from any other ear infection I'd ever had. It felt like every tooth on the left side of my face (top and bottom) was about to burst out. It was unbelievable. The pressure and sharp pains in my ear in unbelievable. I couldn't sleep at night, because everytime I'd lie down the pain would would become unbearable. I feel the need to say here... I'm normally REALLY good with pain. I've had surgeries, given birth... gall bladder attacks... all of that was nothing compared to this. I would panic because of the pain... I didn't know what to do or how to make it better so I'd pace and rock myself... nothing helped. I went to the doctor and he said that ear was infected.. so I thought I had my answer. I started antibiotics and he gave me pain meds until it cleared up. It wasn't until about 2 and a half weeks after starting antibiotics.. infact, I'd finished the prescription and been back to the doctor twice that it began to ease up. He told me the infection was gone on both visits.
Since the pain finally went away, I carried on with life and figured the antibiotics must have taken longer to help me.

The pain returned in the beginning of February. I went back to the doctor and he checked my ears and said no infection. He noticed I had a bad tooth, so he figured that was what was wrong and gave me antibiotics. I went to the dentist, had the tooth pulled. Finished antibiotics,Pain remained. This went on for about a month.. since then I've had terrible sinus headaches so the doctor presribed me more antibiotics for what he thought was a sinus infection. He took x-rays of my face to rule out an abscess. No abscess.
The headache remains, my ears feel full of fluid and always hurt and I'm terrified that that terrible pain will return. I'm so frustrated, I just don't know what to do.
I've had no fevers, but felt chilled. My glands in my neck are really swollen, not painful though... but that's nothing new, I always seem to have swollen glands (allergies I think, I tried antihistamines and sinus medication) My joints really ache now and I'm just so tired all time.
Does any one know what I should do now... I see the doctor tomorrow and I really need some answers. I just don't have time to feel this lousy.

Also.. if I bend over and then stand up straight fluid pours out my nose... gross right? Why?

You definitely need to see an ENT and not your family Dr. With the fluids it does sound like it is your ears or sinuses. I am battling problems with my ears and jaw. After 9 months I am pretty sure I have either TMJ or TMD. Drs are just not sure and nothing has relived my headaches, back and shoulder aches and ear fullness that is maddening! Search the internet and make sure you do not have these symptoms. If you do see and Oral surgeon ot TMJ specialist. Your bite does not need to be off to have TMJ. My Oral Surgeon feels mine is muscular and sent me for physical therapy. Also suggested massages. So far though nothing has worked. You you do not get answers keep going. Get 2nd opinions. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Thanks SanDee, I saw a fill in doctor about a week ago, my doctor was on vacation... he said he'd leave a note for my doctor to refer me to an ENT... I'll talk to my doctor about it today.
I was actually really frustrated when my dentist brushed it all off... I just wanted some answers and someone to tell me that they could fix what's wrong so I could get on with my life.
I see my doctor again this afternoon and I think it's time to stomp my feet and demand some answers.
I'll let you know what happens and thanks again for your help and support!!

I wish you luck. I have been stomping my feet for 10 months to no avail. Drs say it could be this or it could be this but I do not see anything and I am just not sure but you might try this. It may or may not help. If it does not help you may want to see this Dr or this Dr but they do not find anything and tell me to come back in 1 month or 6 moths like that is not time at all to live with this problem. I see the ENT again tomorrow after 6 months. The Audiologist did find fluid in my middle ear so maybe this will give him a clue. Not knowing if I will ever find a cure or if I am doomed to live the rest of my life like this is insane! Every waking hr is spent thinking about my ears and my hearing. I am considering trying Acupuncture. Can't hurt.
