    Sinus Cyst question

Hello there. I had an MRI/MRA looking for an aneurysm last week. Fortunately it turns out I have a large cyst on my left sinus. I have pain behind and above my left eye that comes and goes as well as other sharp pains in my head that don't last long. I also feel like my hearing has deteriorated. My question is whether or not these symptoms are likely related to the cyst and whether or not I should have it removed if the choice is given? Do these cysts grow back? I haven't seen an ENT doc yet.

    Re: Sinus Cyst question

can you tell me how big is your cysts and it's location. I have a 1.7cm posterior maxillary retention cysts. I have had eye, ear pain, and headaches. I was told by my ent that retention cysts does not usually cause these types of symptoms. I went to an eye doctor, he said it can. My eyes are fine. Dentist said also yes. I am on steriods and anti-biotic and if that does not due the job, I guess I will have to have it removed. Since being on the meds, I have had green discharge, but the pressure behind eyes and other symptoms have so far is still there.

    Re: Sinus Cyst question

I'm not sure how big mine is actually. I ended up not going to the ENT yet because I found out I'm pregnant and know there is likely nothing they can do for me for now. So I'll be waiting until after the baby comes. My symptoms aren't severe so I feel that's the best option for me.
I will say that two of my friends I work with both had their cysts removed and both say it was a good decision. They say they didn't even realize just how bad they were feeling until after the cyst came out.
    Good luck to you!

    Re: Sinus Cyst question

congrats on the baby. It is wise not to take unnecessary med while you are pregnant. If your sinus do act up, try using a Netti Pot. It has helped me in the past, but the congestion/infection in my sinus has gone too far for the Netti Pot to help. I will go back to my ent in a few weeks and have another MRI done to see if anything has changed. If I have to have surgery, it will be my 3rd in the last 1 and a half.
Well at least for me, it is good that there is a cysts because I think the doctors were thinking I was just crazy looking for meds. Thank goodness for MRI.
