Should I be concerned? Or will this go away on its own?

Exclamation Should I be concerned? Or will this go away on its own?

So recently ive discovered a rash/skin irritation on the side of my left buttock, just below my hip bone. Theyre raised bumps about half the size of a dime. They arent itchy, but there is quite a bit of pain when they are touched by anything (even just my underwear being in contact with them hurts... Id say im at like a 5 or a 6 out of 10 on the pain scale). And yesterday i noticed some of the bigger patches started turning kind of a grey/greenish color in the middle. But theyre still quite red around the edges.
Ive been putting antibotic ointment on the area, hoping that it would go away on its own. But its been almost a week and it hasnt; its almost seems like its gotten worse. Should i make an appointment ASAP in case i have a crazy flesh-eating disease? Or just wait it out?

Hello there. It doesnt sound like a crazy flesh eating disease- but it does sound infected if greenish- gray areas are forming and topic antibiotic ointment isnt making any difference. You might need an oral antibiotic. That being said, I would be more concerned about what it is and how you got it.

Yes, you should contact your general physician OR a dermatologist and get this looked at. I would get in to see someone as soon as you are able so that the infection doesnt spread.
