    Exclamation Rash that peels ...

    Hi,
Wondering if anyone knows of a rash that peels during the healing stage? Iím on day 10 of a full body rash (neck to back of calves) of a very itchy, prickly red raised rash. Doctors or nurses couldnít figure out what it was, and I have no idea what could have triggered it. I woke up one morning last week, just itchy. Iím an other wise healthy 27yo female. It spread very quickly from my trunk to my chest, neck, arms and legs. Iíve been put on various antihistamine and high dose of prednisone which seems to have helped. Rash is now pink and flat BUT NOW my whole body is peeling like Iíve been sunburnt. It is so incredibly bizarre, Iíve never experienced anything like this. Please enlighten me!

    Re: Rash that peels ...

So I have an answer to my own question.
I had glandular fever (mono) .. blood tests confirmed. But this was 2 weeks before my rash outbreak. I DID NOT take any previous antibiotics that caused this. I thought I had a regular cold/sore throat and powered through. I was just a lucky small percentage that develops a horrid insanely itchy rash after mono. That peels.
Day 20 of rash and Iím nearly back to normal, just very dry peeling itchy skin and few spots.

Hope this can help someone, because Iíve been racking my brain.
