Question Small itchy bumps driving me insane - help!

For the past three months I have suffered with these small pimple like bumps on my body that are insanely itchy!!! They come up pretty quickly, and are gone soon after (but more come up in other places) and become really itchy, I scratch them so much my skin bleeds and bruises. I can hardly sleep because the itching keeps me awake, or once I finally sleep I wake up 100 times to scratch!
It's worse at night (maybe because I'm not busy) and the worst areas are around my thighs, stomach, groin and bum (basically from belly button down to knees). I've only had a few spots over these 3 months on my back/arms/lower legs/hands. & Have never had them on my face, or feet. But all up have had hundreds of little spots on the problem areas I mentioned first. And at the moment my scalp is extremely itchy but I can't see it underneath all my hair to check for spots.
I don't think it's contagious as my four year son hasn't had any at all - same goes for bed bugs, and fleas). I have also stayed at a family friends holiday place for the past two weeks (new beds, linen etc) and they are still just as bad.
I've eliminated all skin products, moisturiser, soap and washing powder.
I have been treated for folliculitis - didn't work. And scabies - didn't work. Seen different doctors and they just keep guessing - the itching is driving me CRAZY out of my mind, it's interfering with every aspect of my life, I need it to stop! Not sure if it's an allergy or disease!
does anyone have any ideas of what it could be?
I am a 21 year old female from Western Australia

Cool Re: Small itchy bumps driving me insane - help!

I had about the same condition for several years, mostly on my scalp but other areas as well. Several Doctors tried shampoos, antibiotics. nothing helped. I accidentally found the cure. I set my water heater thermostat at 135% F and started showering with straight hot water. It was almost too hot at first but after a few day I got used to it. The bumps stopped itching after the second day. In three weeks they were all gone.
I still shower daily with very hot water. I think the problem was microscopic chewing mites. It's not necessary to change your thermostat setting. Just don't burn your self. you will know when it's too hot, LOL
