    What is this?

Since the beginning of October, I've been having fatigue issues. I'll usually be fine for a few hours after waking up, but anywhere from 7 hours onward it's possible for me to crash. Sometimes I feel this feeling in the background a bit earlier. It really doesn't seem like a physical tiredness, i.e. I would be fine doing something athletic, although the lack of motivation makes it difficult to initiate some things. If I do exercise, I will suddenly feel the tiredness a few hours later, and that sudden tiredness will last a couple of hours. Sometimes when it's late, the tiredness feels really strong, but not to the point that I need to sleep. Rarely does the tiredness actually cause me to sleep.

Accompanied with the tiredness is often a dry feeling throat and a heavyness around the eyes, both feelings which I sometimes associate with the feeling I would normally associate from being woken up really early or taking a nap.

When I'm in social situations or walking around, the fatigue will sometimes fade into the background until I notice it again.

Sometimes when it's really bad, I almost feel dizzy but I'm not actually dizzy, maybe just a heavy head. It also causes a bit of anxiety.

Very recently, sometimes when just starting to fall asleep I am awoken gaasping for air. I know this sounds like sleep apnea, but this started recently and way after the fatigue did.

I have also had issues with body temperateure at night. I will feel really warm on parts of the body (no fever), but without blankets I feel the air is usually chilly.

When this started, I had the feeling on a couple isolated occasions that made sense due to the amount of sleep I had the night before. One time I even had a breif stint of vertigo where I couldn't walk strait, but that didn't last long.

The last couple of weeks, my symptoms improved when I slept from 2am-noon almost every day. They were still there, but not as bad. Now that I'm gonig to bed 11-12pm and waking up at 8:30-9, the symptoms have gotten worse again.

I am definitely going to go to the doctor a gain (a different one), but anybody have any ideas or suggestions of things to try?

I've been to the doctor several times and had normal bloodwork, although I went in a couple of times for a sore throat/big tonsils and got antibiotics.

    Re: What is this?

This sounds very suspicious for sleep apnea, as it causes daytime fatigue and is often caused by enlarged tonsils. I would pursue testing for it, especially since you have even noticed the gasping for breath, which means your airway is closing off when you sleep. There are serious sequelae to sleep apnea besides fatigue, so it is important to check out.

    Re: What is this?

I agree with LadyBug about having a sleep study test done and PLEASE go to a sleep specialist. If you do have sleep apnea and it is not taken care of, it can lead to all sorts of SERIOUS issues. I have had it for years and about six months or more, it started leaking in the water tank. I called the person who sold it to me and sent it back. He returned it to me and before I knew it, the water came back. In the meantime, I got very sleepy and had knots in my legs due to his dishonesty. Sleep apnea can cause heart attacks as well as other things.
