Unhappy No more dreams. I miss them.

I know we all dream during sleep but for the past 5 years or so, I've stopped remembering even having a dream. When I was young, I frequently had lucid dreaming. I had vivid dreams I could easily remember. I had multiple dreams at night.
Now.........nothing. At first I thought it was age related, but I ruled that out with some research.
Any idea what could have happened?

There are foods that will boost serotonin and melatonin levels and this is supposed to promote vivid dreams. But all the foods I found listed are foods that I don't eat, like dairy products and different meats. And I think they are supposed to be eaten as a bedtime snack which I don't do anymore. But even so, I do have dreams from time to time.

It's possible that you do have dreams and just don't remember them anymore.

Here's something you can try: As you're about to fall asleep you give your subconscious mind a suggestion as follows: "I'm going to have a beautiful dream and I will remember it." You might even think about what the dream will be like. In other words, you have to set the stage.

Most of us can't remember our dreams. I rarely do. If I do remember them I usually forget them 5 minutes or so after being awake.

Its not abnormal to not remember your dreams...my husband "swears" he doesn't dream, but everyone does... some of us remember them, some of us do not.

Dreaming is all about the stage of REM sleep you are in and how quickly you get to it or if it takes you awhile to do so. If you are a heavy sleeper, you will remember less and if you fall asleep quickly you will remember less.

I wouldn't worry about it, there is nothing abnormal about you if you do not remember your dreams.
