I cant wake up & its getting dangerous

I have had problem for 4 or 5 years. I have problems falling asleep, Im just not tired untill I have been up for around 20 hours. I can stay up for about 25 hours before Im tired. But when I fall asleep I can sleep for 15 hours. Even when I am only up for 8 or 10 hours I can still go to sleep and sleep for 10-15 hours. Its not like I have an unrestfull sleep, I sleep very deeply the problem is I dont wake back up. My boyfriend is very annoyed when we have brunch plans and he trys to wake me up even if I have had 10 hours of very deep sleep I dont wake up short of my home catching flame. This is dangerous, Litteraly the fire alarm went off in my building the other day and I would have slept through it if my boyfriend hadnt been yelling and shaking me that the building was on fire. and that still took 2 minutes. I could only complain that the buzzing was to loud! I dont move much when I sleep I stay very still, I dont snore and I dont know what my problem is. I just dont wake up. If no one or nothing wakes me up I can sleep for 20+ hours. My body just doesnt move between the different levels of sleep. Does any one have any ideas? Please! all doctors do is say I need sleeping pill to get to sleep. But with a little effort I can go to sleep I just dont wake up. When I do finaly wake up I am fully rested, it doesnt matter if I get 3 hours or if I get 20. I am just as rested.

I would try and find a sleep specialist/consultant and maybe they would be able to help you more and have more understanding that yes you do have a sleeping problem then a normal doctor would. I can definitly see why that can be dangerous and it can't be too healthy either.

Look into this, it may be what you have.

Circadian Rhythm Disorder (light therapy was recommended to balance the natural hormones that affect the sleep.)

    Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome (DSPS)
The cause of DSPS is unknown, it is believed to be a disorder of the body's timing system. These persons have difficulty falling asleep and difficulty waking because their biological clocks are out of phase with the sleeping and waking times they try to carry out. DSPS is therefore very similar to jet lag, but much longer-lasting. It can develop suddenly or gradually.

Vitamin B12 from sleep disorders has shown to be helpful.
There have been a wide range of treatments techniques used most with varying degrees of success.

These include Bright Light Therapy, Chronotherapy, other treatments mentioned were controversial.

Five Element Acupuncture is an ancient form of acupuncture that works by treating a person at the levels of body, mind, heart and spirit. By doing this it helps a person move back into harmony with themselves, their emotions and their life as a whole."

Biofeedback & Bio/Neurofeedback is a technique that is based on the fact that one can activate systematically the natural mending(healing) processes of the body.

How much early sunlight do you get? Do you think this may be your problem? I hope I've shed some light on what your looking for. Diana
