Unable to Breathe and Wave of Sudden Extreme Tiredness
Ok so sometimes I have trouble going to sleep, but not really that often. Last night I went to bed at around 11 and woke back up at 2. I went to the bathroom and laid back in bed and my mind started to wander and I had a dream while I was still awake(probably about to go to sleep) but in it I was playing dice with a bunch of people and the police came to bust us so I woke up with a really strong fast hart beat. After I calmed back down and was trying to nod off again, about ten or twenty minutes later, I started to think about dream stuff instead of like real stuff that keeps you awake, you know to fall asleep, and as I did this I exhaled a breath and all of the sudden I couldn't breathe back in at all no matter how much I tried and at the same time a huge wave of tiredness came over me when just a few seconds before I would consider myself pretty wide awake. This wave was ten times more than anything I have ever felt and accompinied with the loss of breathing control I got real scared. I had to devote my entire mind to trying to get back out of it and after 3 to 5 seconds I was able to start breathing again, and right when I started breathing again I was back to the state of awakeness I was at before. But the wave that came over me would have put me out in less than a second if I had given in to it. Then a few minutes later, the same thing happened, right as I exhaled a breath I couldn't breathe back in and a huge wave of tiredness came over me. It wasn't as bad, I snapped out of it in a few seconds but to me it felt like if I had gone to sleep right then I could have died a few minutes later in my sleep. After this happened I really couldn't sleep very well and at 3.30 or 4 in the morning I finally started to get tired and fall into sleep but when I did it that time and started to fall into it, my entire body would get tingly and it felt to me like I was rolling off the side of the bed for some reason, when I was at least a foot away from the edge( I finally checked to see how close I was after this happened for an hour or so). It was difficult to fall asleep with this extreme numbness all over my body and the illusion that i was actually moving off of my bed. I wasn't able to actually fall asleep again until about 7 in the morning, after all of these crazy symptoms wore off. I was not under the influence of any drugs, prescription or illegal, and I had not been drinking anything. I was completely sober through all of this. Oh and about six months ago I woke up a couple times in the morning after a good nights rest unable to breathe. I would sort of wake up in my sleep but not be able to move my body or open my eyes or breathe and would have to fight to wake myself up and then I would take a big gasp of air in. This happened maybe two or three times all last April I would say. Please help me with this, I would really appreciate to know what's going on. Thank you very much, and I'm sorry it was such a long post.
