Insomnia that starts between 1am to 2am

I have insomnia problems. I don't have any issue to fall asleep when I go to bed at 10PM, in general I start to sleep winthin a minute but then I wake up between 1 am to 2 am and my sleep is very fragmented. Then I don't feel refresh in the morning and the fatigue lasts all most during the day.

What is strange for me is that if I don't wake up during the night, I feel even worst in the morning (does it mean that I don't get a restful sleep? apnea, restless legs syndrom???).

I tried ZMA, melatonin in the past but my sleep was even worst.

    Any similar experience?

Yup, I was always waking between 1:30 and 3:00 every am...I attributed it to the early am paper deliver, to allergies, to my critters, you name it. It was only after I discontinued taking a pill for hypertension that I stopped waking up at those hours...I took my pill around breakfast time....so whenever someone wakes around the same time each night, that's the first thing that I suspect.

I might have other suggestions to offer but it would be dependent on if you are taking other meds.

Thank for your reply. In my case I am 36 years old and I don't take any medics... my blood pressure is ok. I have a tester at home.

Ok, If meds are not in the picture, the second thing I would suggest considering is diet...calcium, magnesium, and potassium are critical components to a health nervous system...do you eat a well balanced diet with lots of fruits and veggies? If you eat a healthy diet (and no, you shouldn't need to take supplements), and you're still having problems, I would suggest getting in to see your doctor to rule out obvious problems.

If your doctor can't find anything "obvious", then I would recommend getting a referral to see a sleep specialist. Your sleep is not normal and not getting normal sleep can lead to obesity, diabetes, heart problems, and psychiatric problems...so I would hope you would follow through to find the cause.

Do get back with us if you have questions.
