    Post CPAP + Stuffed Nose

I've had a stuffed nose all day, so I used Afrin at about 8:00 PM (had an opportunity where I could actually breathe enough to use it) and went to sleep about 1:00 AM. At 3:00ish I woke up having trouble getting air through my nose .. and yeah .. it's stuffed again (about 50% .. enough to make the CPAP useless). Now I'm afraid to go back to sleep becuase there's no way I can use the CPAP with my nose this stuffed (note: I use Nasal Aire).

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do at times like this?

Try smearing up with Vicks Vapor Rub before going to bed. It helps somewhat with the congestion and won't cause any sleep related side effects (although you'll smell pretty strong). And, of course, sleep (or try to sleep) with your head slightly elevated--it will help you breathe better.

    Good luck!

I bought a full face mask for use only during those times when my nose is stuffed up due to cold or flu. It is uncomfortable, because I am used to my regular mask. But it is either this or sleep without CPAP, which is unthinkable!
