Trying Again

I haven't had a cigarette since Sunday night. I'm actually fine, except for the low heart rate I now have again. I'll try to not focus on that so much, but it is hard.

Deda...thank you so much for your kind words last week. I think you're an inspiration for anyone that wants to quit! I'm going to beg my doctor to test my thyroid again. I don't know what else to think about this low heart rate.

Anyway - just wanted to say hello to everyone. Hopefully I can do it this time!

Congratulations and welcome back. This is the place you want to be for support to quit smoking. I hope the issue with your heart rate gets resloved.

Re: Trying Again

Leela C,
Wow!! 4 days without a cigarette!! WONDERFUL!!!!!
You are almost through Hell Week!! It will get easier and easier the longer you don't smoke. I'm so glad you decided to quit again. You can do this!!
You are strong!!

When you feel the urge to smoke try one of these suggestions:
chew gum, go for a walk, exercise, call a friend, leave the situation, Take a deep breath, think of how much progress you have made so far, tell yourself "I can do it."

Good Luck to you! And I'm glad you're back.

Re: Trying Again

Great job! Drink lots of water and use positive self talk...hang in there...

Re: Trying Again

Thanks everyone! It has been MUCH easier this time around. I think I've had only one or two cravings all week. The desire to smoke just isn't there anymore. Hopefully it will work this time!
