Traveller: I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time. Meemaw is so very correct: you're such an inspiration to us and so encouraging when we're down. Are you on - or would you consider going on - an antidepressant?

What I consider to be bulk foods: raw veggies -- particularly brocilli, cauliflower, carrots -- dried beans (the kind you get in a bag and cook from "scratch") -- particularly large lima beans -- popcorn, nuts, high fiber cereal, salads, raw fruit. That's all I can think of right now. Except for the popcorn and nuts, I don't like any of that stuff. I'd much prefer a big ole' bag of Utz's potato chips followed a half gallon of Moose Track ice cream for dessert. But.......I don't do it -- at least not very often. I eat the "good" food 'cause I know it's good for me.

Keep telling us how things are for you. I know you know how good it is to vent.

Memaw, I'm not going to give up.... I hope to never go back to smoking... but it's only one day at a time... right Sara26? Trish, I got a cobb salad w/o the avocado from Crispers tonight... lots of raw cauliflower and broccoli... I love the stuff and it's fiber qualities are already starting to work.

I do get down now and then and am on anti-depressants... are you on any Trish? Everyone, just ignore me when I start whining....

but it's zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz time for me....

Good luck to all of you out there! Hi to all the new guys too!!

    Hi pitypat!!
So glad to see you on here again. It's been a while!!

    Wow!! 100 days!! You Rock!!

How have your cravings been? Don't worry about the 10 pounds right now. It will come off later. Just being healthy is all that matters right now.

Can I ask why you want to continue with the Chantix for another 3 months?
Kevin (KConnolly) said he was going to do that. But I haven't seen him on the board in a few weeks now. So I don't know how he is doing with it.

    Good Luck to you!!
    Memaw

    Re: Frustrated weight gain w/Chantix-HELP!!!

Hey Traveller: I thought of something else that's good for "bulk" and that's baked sweet potatoes (some call them yams). I cook mine just like a regular ole' baked potato and then butter it up and sprinkle on cinnamon sugar. Yum-O!

Yes....I'm on an anti-depressant....Prozac. Have been on it for years and years.

You come here and "whine" anytime you like!! And I mean that. Even cheerleaders need to vent and complain and tell their troubles.

Thanks again for all the support you've given me!!

Cool Re: Frustrated weight gain w/Chantix-HELP!!!

    Hi Traveller!

It does seem a bit overwhelming when one is told to add so many activities to ones already busy schedule. I would suggest that you slowly incorporate the suggestions of your therapist into your schedule and do so at your own pace. No need to do them all at once. You seem to me to be a very strong person. You are doing a great job with your QUIT and a super job in encouraging me and others as well.

If you have been long term on your current antidepressent you might talk to your doctor and consider changing to a different one. Each one acts differently on different people and sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to find the right antidepressant for you. That with counselling should help you through this difficult time.

Traveller, these days will pass. You will feel better soon so hang in there and do what you need to do to get past this.

    Best Wishes,

    Sapphire

Man, Sapphire....you said that so well. You see, Traveller: you have so many people who care about you and are wishing you the best.

Thank you all, you are the best!!

Enough of a pity party for me right now ... how is everyone else doing?

I didn't want a cig today... did anyone want one?

I will be going to sleep soon, even though I slept very hard for an hour when I got back to the hotel after work tonight.... one of those naps that when you wake up you don't know where you are, lol.... then I went to dinner with a co-worker and had a big mushroom burger... well half of one... it was yummy.

Hugs all and xoxoxox.... sweet dreams!

    Re: Frustrated weight gain w/Chantix-HELP!!!

Yep~ wanted a cig also but wanting and needing are two different things.

Chantix really works with the needing part of it and we ourselves have to battle the wanting part.

    I will NOT give in.

I will stay addicted now to my plastic straw coffee stirrer. I will work on that addiction sometime else.

Yep, I thought it might be nice to have one. But, like you guys, I didn't NEED it. The thought passed rather quickly.
