    almost 6 weeks smoke free

    Hi everyone
I just thought I would update the board that I am almost 6 weeks smoke free.It feels so good not smelling like a cig. I still use the inhaler 5-6 x a day but that is OK and I do know now what my trigger points are when I need the inhaler and that is stress. I wish there was a pill to make life stress free. How is everyone else doing on the inhaler?

Lorriem, It is a huge deal and I hope you are proud of yourself. To be honest with you when I read your message I thought it was more about the inhaler which I know nothing about. I know how helpful this board can be so I apoligize for not commenting on your success.

No it was just about me being smoke free not the inhaler though I did mention what I used. It is a hand to mouth habit..Thank you I need all the encouragement that I can get. I have smoked for 46 years and I feel like I have lost my best friend .Ya know.

Congratulation Lorriem!!! You are doing great! I hear ya though, it's tough. I'm 7 weeks and find it's such a mental game you have to play over and over in your head. When I'm feeling positive, it's great. When I'm down, it's very hard not to give up and smoke. I have to keep saying positive things to myself so many times a day. At work, I have no cravings whatsoever now which is great. It's when I get home and have dinner, have a drink, go to a social event, etc., that it gets really hard for me.

I'm on the 14 mg patch and also using the inhaler a couple of times a day. When I'm REALLY craving, I will chew a nicotine gum. Seems to help.

Hang in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best wishes to you.
