Hi, Ray, and I hope you're still quit now on day 2!!! You're making the best decision by quitting.

Sleeping helped me. If I was sleeping, I wasn't smoking or eating. Getting up and out also helped, going for a walk, to the store, to the mall, to the movies -- going somewhere I couldn't have or wouldn't have been to able to enjoy as a smoker. Showers are good, too.

Look out for triggers. If coffee or alcohol sets you off, be prepared to give those things up for a bit until you get a bit more comfy in your quit. Have things lined up for yourself after meals or whenever else you would have smoked.

When I was in the days just before my quit date, a salesperson at a store told me after the first three days being quit, it's all mental, it's all in your head. He was really so right. Even today, I still think about those words. Just get through the first 72 hours.
