5 Days In
Hi,
I'm new here, and this is my first post.
I quit smoking 5 days ago, cold turkey and it has to be the hardest thing I have ever done. EVER.
I am 41, and have smoked on and off for 25 years, quitting through all three of my pregnancies. I had no plans on quitting right now (no matter how much I've always wanted to), but I had not mapped out a quit date or a plan or anything. I had a cigarette on Christmas day and it was just weird. It tasted bad, it made me choke, it was just horrible, so right then and there, I just decided to quit.
I am doing my best to get thru the cravings, I have jolly ranchers and suckers, gum, etc. After I made it through the first 3 days, I decided not to resort to a vapor or an e-cigarette since all the nicotine was out of my body by then but it is still so hard not to crave one.
I have some questions tho:
1. Do they really strong cravings ever go away? How long does it take? It's insatiable right now (still), 5 days later.
2. I noticed tingling in my lips. Why?
3. My hands feel heavy when I type (I do alot of typing). And, it looks like my veins are popping out.
4. I am SO foggy. I feel disoriented and tired and just all around "foggy". I don't know a better word for it. I feel like I could fall asleep every few minutes. I felt very dizzy the other night, but that seems to be subsiding a little bit.
5. It would be dumb now to turn to an ecigarette right?
Thanks for your help and insight. I can use all the support I can get right now!!!
