    MRI results???

    need help understanding these results:

    IMPRESSION:
    1. Status post anterior cervical fusion at C3-4.

    2. C4-5 broad-based disc bulge with mild anterior mass effect on the cord. Mild right neural foraminal narrowing.

    3. C6-7 right paracentral disc bulge causing focal effacement of the CSF and mild mass effect on the right paracentral cord. Mild right neural foraminal narrowing.

    4. C2-3 demonstrates left paracentral ossification effacing CSF without central stenosis.

    5. See detailed description above.

If you are a patient and have questions about your report please contact your health care provider.

    Narrative

    MR CSPINE WITHOUT CONTRAST - 12/22/2016, 2218.

HISTORY: 57 years Male. severe neck pain. eval for acute disc herniation or facet edema/arthritis.

TECHNIQUE: Multisequence multiplanar MRI of the cervical spine.

    COMPARISON: CT 11/5/2016

    FINDINGS:

Status post anterior cervical fusion at C3-4. Metallic hardware artifact is present. Normal cervical alignment. Vertebral body height is preserved. Bone marrow signal is normal. The cord signal is normal. Cerebellar tonsils are normally located.

C1-C2: No spinal canal or foraminal stenosis.
C2-C3: Posterior lateral partial ossification of C2-3. This effaces the CSF anteriorly. No significant mass effect on the cord..
C3-C4: Status post anterior fusion. No evidence of central canal or neural foraminal narrowing..
C4-C5: Broad-based disc bulge causing effacement of the CSF and mild anterior mass effect on the cord. Mild right uncovertebral degenerative change results in mild right neural foraminal narrowing. The left neural foramen is patent.
C5-C6: Mild broad-based disc bulge causing mild effacement of the CSF anteriorly. Mild right uncovertebral degenerative change results in mild right neural foraminal narrowing. The left neural foramen is normal.
C6-C7: Right paracentral disc bulge causing focal effacement of the anterior CSF and mild mass effect on the right paracentral cord. No abnormal cord signal. Mild right uncovertebral degenerative change resulting in mild right neural foraminal narrowing the left neural foramen is patent.
C7-T1: No spinal canal or foraminal stenosis.

    Re: MRI results???

Welcome to the board. I am sorry no one responded to your inquiry. Do you still need some help interpreting this or have you seen a doctor by now?

Looks like you have developed some issues lower down from your previous fusion. This appears to be worst at C6-7 where the spinal cord is being compressed as a result of the disc herniation.
