    Tingling sensations ... neck prob??

For several weeks, I am having this tingling sensation on right arm and leg, pain on my back (next to shoulder blade), and shoulder pain. I talked to my PCP and he referred me to a neurologist who I will see two weeks later. My PCP told me that it could be related to spine problem. Currently, I am not having any neck pain which means I can turn my head side to side or up and down without any problem. Can it be still the nec disc problem even though I do not have a neck pain?
Now, I just have tingling sensation but no pain on my arm or leg. Also, I can grab things without a prob. If it is a disc prob, do you think it is bad enough to have a surgery??

Are all the symptoms on the right side? And this was in the leg too?

Tingling such as you describe is often a sign of spinal nerve compression. This can be caused by a bulging or herniated disc, but there are other reasons for these symptoms as well. If the pain and tingling continue, you may want to make an appointment with a spine specialist. This could be either a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon or a neurosurgeon whose practice is limited to the back and neck. They will probably want a MRI to see what is going on and to establish a baseline for future visits.

It doesn't sound like your symptoms are bad enough that surgery would be needed. I should think you could be treated with conservative modalities such as a course of physical therapy, oral medications for pain and inflammation, perhaps a series of epidural steroid injections given for the same purpose, etc.

The fact that you have symptoms in a leg as well may indicate that there is some spinal cord compression.
