    Osteophyte Complex abutting Spinal Cord

Hi - haven't posted for a long time but would like your thoughts/comments on the following: I have had a recent MRI showing a large osteophyte complex at c6/7 where I had an ACDF approx 8 years ago for spinal moderate spinal cord compression at that level. The largest osteophyte is now touching the spinal cord but not deforming it (yet). Has anyone else had this? do these things keep growing or do they stop at a certain stage? Is there an operation to file these down and if so at what stage is this performed ie would it be done as a preventative measure or as a last resort when symptoms become dangerous or affecting the quality of life badly? Many thanks x
