Excruciating pain... wonder what it is...

Hi. I have been posting in various categories including immunology and neurology... I am new and i need some direction...
I have excruciating pain in the upper back... along the ribs and down the spine... The pain runs along the sides of the spine and not exactly in the center... Its very very very bad. I cant help but cry... This pain has made it impossible to do simple things like lifting a glass full of water or a purse, pushing the door open, making the bed or rinsing hands with water. Driving and showering are next to impossible. Its very intense. The pain is just killing me. I have been given vicodin to deal with it until the neurologist sees me. I have also been working with a Rheumatologist but the exams indicate Sjogren's which does not explain anything with the bones and muscles. I walk like a zombie. Any idea what this is? From what i read, it could be one of many spine related issues or a pinched nerve... Perhaps some inflammation... I dunno and going to the ER doesnt yield much. Been there 3 times already and they have asked me to see specialist and given pain medication.
Please advise what to do. it hurts on either side of my spine... more on the right side... especially the right side back ribs and the the lower spine. My shoulders hurt too... On a scale of 1 to 10, this is 100... I kid you now... The pain starts in one area (exactly at one area on the back of the ribs on the right side) and then slowly everything else begins to hurt... it kinda wraps around the ribcage into abs...
You almost wanna kill yourself at this point...
This is making my life miserable coz i cant do anything. My hubby has to do everything. I am ao diabled and feel miserable... I know i sound annoying and complaining but this is one of those REALLY bad days. It was sort of okay for a week. I have had this for 6-8 weeks now... Please advise .
Has anyone experienced this before??? Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Pardon me for making this sound so complaining...
Thanks and God bless ya all... Good luck to all of you. I know we all suffer from a lot of pain. I have been in and out of hopitals so much lately but we still havent found the underlying cause...
    Thanks
    LibertyGirl.

I feel so bad for you. I hope your appointment is soon and they can find out what your problem is. Try to hang in there, I know it must be hard. Look ahead 6 months and see yourself pain free and doing everything you love. That what I try to do. Nothing lasts forever and you will get better- just takes time.
