    heaviness after fusion

I am now almost 8 weeks out of an L4-L5 and L5-S1 spinal fusion and am still feeling alot of heaviness in lower back. My neurosurgeon said that it could possibly be the hardware but it is too soon to tell. He said that after I go through therapy to build my muscles up that i would prob. stop having the heaviness. But if it didn't go away I may have to have the hardware removed after the fusion is successfully complete. Has anyone had this problem?
