Hello, i have not had this done but is s spelled rhizotomy and you might be talking about radiofrequency rhizotomry (heating of the nerve) ( i think also called nerve abalation). So it depends on what procedure you are talking about. typlicaly Neurosurgeons or Pain management doctors do this. it is an outpatient type procedure.

    Re: rosotomy

I had a rhizotomy done (radio frequency) a yr. and half ago. It cauterizes the nerves and basically kills them to help with your pain. It can last as long as a year to a year and half. It helped me, but mostly it was for facet joint pain and not disk pain.

How long does it take for the rhizotomy to "kick in" and relieve the pain. I am still having pain and it is one month after the procedure.
