    Post Traumatic Syringomyelia (Syrinx)

Hello everyone! I'm new to this board. My 24yr old son has just been diagnosed with a disc in the neck that is protruding and pressing on the spinal cord. He has been having problems with his arm and latterly with his legs. They say he needs surgery to remove this disc but he has an added complication of having this Syrinx which I believe is a sac of fluid around this disc. I am very worried as I believe it makes the surgery more risky. Does anyone else have or had this problem. If so I would like to know how they made out with the surgery.
