    It is a condition where the endplates of the spine are not strong enough. The endplates are meant to help support the discs in between your vertabrae. When they are weak and cannot support the discs, the discs are prone to herniations.

    Conservative therapy is the recommended treatment: things like physical therapy, medication, injections, stretching. Physical activity is good to keep the back strong, avoiding heavy lifting so you don't force herniations to occur.
