rusty hinge sounds in neck post op

Hi, I recently had a posterior fusion done with hardware, at C2 C3. I'm happy with the results so far, but hard to tell when it's all still so stiff and sore.
One thing that I wasn't expecting is this weird noise when I turn my head. I'm used to the pops and crackles and crunchy noises, but this is like a squealing screechy hinge noise. To me it sounds like the rods and screws are trying to turn in the bone but I know that's not possible. Has anyone else had this, and do you know what it is? I'm not concerned, because I've healed really well, and I know it's just another part of the surgery but it's really unnerving.
    Anyone else had it?
    Thanks
    Lily
