t10 compression & muscle spasms, do they go together ?

On Feb 09 2009 i hurt my back at work and was told I have a t10 compression, I was told by the doc. that it would go away in about 6 weeks, but still not much better. Most of the pain acrocc my chest has gone away, but now I have what feels like muscle spasms in my lower back. It bothers me most when I set back in a chair and less when im standing. Do any of you have muscle spasms with your back problems.
    Thanks, gd72
