    Spinal Tumor

    Please help!

Is it possible to have an intramedullary spinal cord tumor, a tumor inside the spinal cord, large enough that it expands the cord, and in the cervical region, for this to cause enough pressure inside the brain, that this would cause multiple brain lesions over time? Has anyone heard of this? Wht would be the effect of this type of tumor over time, what effect would this have on the brain? Any?

Have you had an MRI and do you have a copy of the findings?

    Re: Spinal Tumor

if you could indeed at least post the actual summary at the end of your report, that would help TONS. just what does this tumor consist of? have they defined that yet? is it an actual "tumor' or a possible large vascular lesion? what type of actual "lesions' are appearing in your brain? there are many different types. just what types of symptoms are you experiencing? is this causing you any paralyzation? besides that cord there you also have the "dura" that surrounds it and the brain all in one big membrane? the actual pressure that would go to the brain is usually more within the CSF that just bathes that cord and brain? vascular pressure tho can also affect the brain in a much deeper level. you just do have a vascular blood supply that also runs within that spinal area too. if something were impacting that vertebral artery(or other specific areas of the vascular structures that just run within that cord), it could create a much higher pressure within the brain too. knowing exactly what this is and the way things are being described in that report really really would help alot. marcia
