Bad cervical spine and cold feet, feet tingling sensations

I was wondering if any of you with cervical spine problems also have problems with cold feet, achey feet, tingling sensations of the feet? I have this and I am wondering if it is related to my bad cervical spine. Im not sure if this is peripheral neuropathy or not. Anyone with c spine issues and feet issues i would like to hear about it... Estella

    estella,

i have also had strange sensations, including cold, in my feet--in particular my left foot. i have bulges @ c3-4, c4-5 and a herniation @ c5-6, along with bone spurs and generalized degeneration of the c-spine. my left foot buzzes a lot and i feel like i'm wearing a tight sock that vibrates on my lower left leg sometimes too.

most of my drs., my PT and others on this board have indicated that those sensations are fairly common with c-spine injuries.

sorry you are having troubles, but you will find a lot of support on this board.

    best wishes
    binx

Estella...I jut wrote a long post to Tinafibro about how to read an MRI report and what spine surgeons are looking for. Read it and then let me know what questions you have. It might help you to understand what the spine problems are all about and why or why not you should have surgery.

I get bee stings on my legs, I will be walking and freak ou t and slap my leg loud lol. Hands suck severe carpal. Buut the bee stings and the water thing for long time. Something is very wromg though last couple days. I'm 9-10 almost all the time. I'm weak. I thought maybe flu but no cough/runny nose/stomach probs. Going to the doc soon. take care

i just read your post about the MRI. IM wondering why if my C6 nerve is supposed to be impinged on by the bad vertebrae,,, why dont I have tingling up and down my arm to my thumbs, or numbness. My muscles in my arms/ biceps feel slightly weaker is all, but alot of neck and upper back pain, shoulders too. My fingers ache at the joints and i have cold hands,, but i got lke this last winter as well, and summer came it let up. Estella

I don't know why you don't have the symptoms but it asks a bigger question....why does your NS want to do a major surgery on you when you don't have the symptoms the rest of us have?

Everyone here has these same symptoms or worse. My doc won't touch anyone without sure signs of nerve damage but you seem to be in the very early stages and may have other problems such as Raynaud's Syndrome that would explain the cold hands and feet and the associated pain.

Read some of the other posts and see what others are suffering from and then ask yourself why this guy is pushing you into an ADR.

Have you been seen by any pain management docs at all?

    Hugs.............Jenny

    hi jenny,,

I am going back to that surgeon to ask more questions, and also going for a second opinion about the surgery. They are refering to pain management first at my request.. I was checked for autoimmune disorders, nothing came up. I have osteoarthritis and djd they say. Doesn't your hands change color with Raynaud's Syndrome? I will ask my rheumatologist if she ran the test for that yet, im not sure. Is there a specific antibody to look for for Raynauds Syndrome? Terry

Re: Bad cervical spine and cold feet, feet tingling sensations

I am new Here, but I have been having very similar symptoms as you since my car accident 3 1/2 months ago. I was rear ended. I also have a lot of pain in my neck and shoulders and mine also goes down my back. I have has really cold, tingling feet ever since. I also do not have tingling in my arms or hands but have sore and achy feelings. When I had xrays they said I have torn ligaments in my neck but since none of the treatments I have tried seem to be working I just had a weight bearing MRI done yesterday and I am going to see a pain management/ spine specialist soon. I have not gotten the results back yet but I know this is VERY frustrating and painful! I get very little sleep if any most nights. I don't know how long ago you posted but I hope you have figured out what was causing your symptoms. Best of luck!

Hey ashley. Sorry to hear about your situation. So have you had a severe whiplash?
    What the MRI showed???
and how many hours are you able to sleep at night????
I am asking you that cause I am 5 years post a severe whiplash and I tell you, I cannot sleep since the accident. I need sleeping pills and been trying most of them in the market.

Are you able to lay/rest your neck on the pillow all right???
I have also had an x-ray of my neck but it did not show any torn ligament. I never heard about any x-rays shows torn lilgament cause ligaments are soft tissue. WHat type of x-rays was that??? is it a new type?

Just so you know, as years go by, situation with the neck only gets worse.

LEt me know if you are able to rest/lay your neck on the pillow and how many hours are you able to sleep at night??????
