ROI-C anyone heard of this ????

I just got back from my NS.I have a re-herniated disc at C6-C7. Two years ago I cad a laminectomy. This time he wants to do an ROI-C implant. Has anyone had this done? What was your recovery like and how long before you went back to work. I have a very physical job. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes elle I know of the ROI-C implant only because this is what was used on me last week for my ACDF 4/5 and 5/6 fusion. My neurosurgeon is the best and he told us pre-op meeting that he wanted to use this in my surgery. He showed us one and explained that this has only been available since June or July. Said he has had great results in his patients using it. Looks like a small square. I am 6 days post op and feeling better every day in regards to my strength. Shoulder blade pain is still bad but I am glad I had the surgery done. Will let you know more as time passes. Never could find anyone else who had used the ROI-C but me...

Bonnie thanks for the reply. I was starting to think I was a guinea pig, or my Dr. was a quack. My surgery is not until Feb 23. If you feel up to it please keep me updated on your recovery. I hope it goes well. Sorry your shoulder is still in pain. I know exactly how you feel, mine is excruciating. I can't wait to feel good again.
