    neck problems causing head problems???

I am a 19 year old guy from Englad (i.e very sloooow health service) and for the last 5 months of so have been suffering from a weird drunk like feeling constantly in my head all the time, I have bad concentration problems, very strange head sensations and just feel as if ive had a lot to drink when I havent! 2 nights ago I sat for over an hour at a show on hard uncomfortable chairs, and got the worst headache in my life that lasted 15 hours, and then my neck hurt a lot. I couldnt get comfortable, so tried sleeping without pillows, I lay on my bed for 20 minutes like that and my headache went away but now I have the most surreal sensation in my head. Very strange. My back hurts alot aswell after last night tossing and turning not being able to get comfortable. When I bend over, or crouch I do get sharp pains in my head still.
What I'm wondering is, could all my previous head problems be due to neck alignmet problems? I had an MRI, ECG, chest scan and EEG and multiple blood/urine tests....all came out normal!!
Could nerves be getting trapped in my neck? Is this likely, my doc said no, but I dont trust him to be a very good doctor. any replys would be appreciated!:O)

It is possible but something should have shown in the MRI unless the MRI was only of the head and not the neck. Before I got to the point of needing my operation (cervical fusion) I had various problems/sensations that my chiropractor kept manageable for me. But I definitely remember some of the pains into my head, dizziness and feelings of my head to heavy for my neck. If you have chiropractic available I would definitely give them a try. Mine was a God send to me over the years and still treats my lower back problems. But I warn you, when you have a problem that has been ignored for a while it could take up to a month to get full relief. Good luck and God Bless.

I have strange sensations in head also. Car accident 7-2000. Herniated cervical disc. Maybe you have disc problem, sometimes hard to diagnose. Have sensations that are like split second pauses in consiousness that seem to run in a series and come and go. Anyone else have this from neck problem?

    HI

I also have weird headaches and neck pain due to a car accident 5 years ago - mri showed disc bulge c5/6 and cordimpingement but not sure why I get the headaches and neck pain. Did see a chiro the other day who adjusted the top of my cervical spine and he said that the neck pain can cause some problems in the head and related nerves. Strange sensations sometimes but these could be migrane related visionary disturbances etc. I think a neck injury will always create some type of tension headache/ migrane due to the weekness in the neck and the other structures that then take more slack. Also meds could be an issue and I often get dizzy etc on pain/antinflammatories/migrane med. I find accupunture helps my headaches and neck pain.

Uk guy, listen carefully, do not, i mean do not under any circumstances go to a chiropractor, i worked for orthopedic surgeons for over 10 years one of them a spine specialist, since you do not know what is wrong with you chiropractic adjustments could make you much worse, especially if you have disc bulges or herniations. I do not know what your financial situation is it really is none of my business but the only reason i bring it up is because in new york, usa there is the most wonderful dr known worldwide, i have a very rare neurological disease that i spent 5 long painful suffering years going to over 20 drs who put me through absolute hell for nothing, none of them could come up with any answers, so their egos prevented them from saying i'm sorry we just dont know, they blamed it on me, i had pms, i had a hysterectomy when i was 28, so i slammed the door in his face, that i needed a therapist, i told him where to get off, and did that for 5 long years, finally i found a wonderful dr with no ego problem who at first thought i had ms, as the disease i have is very much like ms only much worse. <p>[this message has been edited by moderator3 (edited 12-16-2001).]
