    Anyone familiar with "pulsed radiofrequency"-RF

Hi I live in Norway. I have been bedridden because of back pain for many years. An American doctor has recommended me to see a specialist in Europe, dr.Menno Sluijter. He is the one that has trained a couple of Norwegian doctors doing RF-Radiofrequency, also called denerving of nerves. The Norwegian doctors have been unsure what to do with my back, though. I have never tried RF, but got steroid injections in the facet joints instead. Now dr. Menno has invited me to come and see him on the clinic he works in Switzerland. He now use "pulsed radiofrequency",instead of heat.

Doctor Menno in Europe told me this:

"Radiofrequency is a method that in many cases gives only temporary results. The painfree period varies widely. It may be as short as a couple of months or as long as several years. But sooner or later it has to be repeated in most patients. Up till a couple of years ago we used to think that the method works by destroying nerve fibres by heat. Recurrence of pain is then due to regeneration of nerve fibres. We now think that the heat is not the determining factor, but that the effect is due to exposure of the nerve to the RF electric field. A method called pulsed radiofrequency is based on that principle. It does not use heat and it is therefore totally innocuous. I use that method exclusively. Recurrence of pain is then caused by default of the exposure to the electric field."

I am trying to find out if this treatment is totally harmless or not. Also I am trying to find out if this treatment could give me more pain instead of less pain. I have talked to Norwegians that claim people get more pain. I wonder if any of you have tried this for back pain? Or do you know anything about this "pulsed radiofrequency"`? Any information appreciated. It is very diffecult to find anything on the net. And of course diffecult to find anything about bad results.
