    myelomalacia vs myopathy

Can someone clarify for me is there a difference between "myelomalacia" which means softening of the spine and the term "myopathy."

Are the terms interchangeable? Or is one a subcategory of the other?

    Thanks for any input......

    Re: myelomalacia vs myopathy

Myopathy is muscle disease.... myo = muscle

If you meant to ask about "myelopathy", which is a "disease" of either spinal cord or of bone marrow, then yes, myelomalacia would be a subset.
