Still leaves the neck problems. You have the radiologist's reading, but what about the neurologist/neurosurgeon? What do they say about the C4-5 level, and the foraminal problem at C5-6?

I suppose someone might propose taking out that C4-5 disk. Seems like the kind of thing that doctors would not agree on, at this point.

If I were having both wrist and neck surgery, I would not want them done at the same time, for recovery reasons. I also would want them done by a wrist specialist and a neck specialist, not by the same guy.

Hi, I thought I would give my latest update.

I saw the neurosurgeon, but before i saw him he ordered an x-ray to check for subluxation. After physically checking me out and seeing my x-ray, mri, he suggested I have surgery very soon. I have hyper-reflux's due to nerves being impinged, and I have subluxation so my surgery is scheduled for next Tues 22nd. I will have An ACDF with Bone and Titanium Plate on C4,5 & 6 - possibly C7...if anything else that needs immediate attn is discovered while in there then that will be done as well.
I was talking to another surgeon who has also had the same surgery ACDF and when I told him about me having subluxation his eyes opened wide and then I also mentioned about my spinal canal being 5 mm his eyes opened up even wider and said, oh yea, you need this surgery AND don't get rear ended!!! Like I have control over that! haha
I will give an update after surgery is done.
    Thanks for all your help!

osteophytes are Bone SPURS...they are usually found in Clusters. Bone Spurs Press on the Nerves. My guess is that you have NERVE Pressure from the Osteophytes (bone spurs) and it's affecting other areas of your body, as all your nerves are in your spine, if a spur presses on just one nerve it can trigger Sciatica (pain from your low back to your heel) amongst everything else in your body (even blurred vision) and your tests Show that you have BONE SPURS or Osteophytes....I am Just Like You. My Quality of life is gone. I cannot even grocery shop, I have two grandchildren that I cannot see because they are in another state & I don't think I could drive that far & my daughter is just a kid without money to come here & can't take off work, so I don't even see my grandchildren. It's awful, but Pain Medications Help ALOT, but you have to get your dr. to give you the Strong Stuff. I'm told the Recovery from the surgery is worse than this, and when there are spurs pressing on nerves, the surgeon could easily cut a nerve during surgery because they are that close (and drs. don't always do things right) You could end up Paralyzed when Nerves are involved. I'm Sorry for you. I'm sorry for me, as my tests and symptoms are identical to yours, and I've been like this for 12 yrs now, and it keeps getting worse. I hope you're seeing a PHYSIATRIST....that's the best doctor for the spine (football players, hockey players depend on them for back injuries). You need a Back Brace (prescribed with stays in it)...and Strong pain meds. Good Luck....Don't let them Cut your Back with Nerves Involved. Google the Words in Your Tests and Write them Down, that will show you what you're dealing with. God Bless You & God Bless Me.
