    Post numbness in foot

I am experiencing numbness across the top of my right foot. It's like the top layer of skin is asleep and that if I peeled it off, I'd have feeling underneath.

My dics problem is C6&7, with bone spur and two bulging discs. Most of the pressure is on the left side, not the right. However, my right hand is where the finger numbness is.

NS says he is not sure that is what is causing the numbness in the foot. He doesn't really think it is the neck.

I do have a slight bulge in the lower back and I have a pinched siatic nerve in the left leg, but not the right.

Just wondered how many of you have had this problem or if you have had this problem with the feet from you neck and if you did, did surgery help.

    Connie in Alabama
    Having surgery March 20th.

I don't know what I can offer to you other than I, too, have had some foot numbness/tingling. The ER doc was baffled. He diagnosed me as having severe muscle spasm of the trapezius and didn't consider a disk issue.

I'm not sure what to make of the foot thing.. it happens when my pain elevates a lot.

Connie, Your Doctor is right. Neck problems would not cause the direct problem with your foot.
However, neck problems do contribute to bad posture or compensation and strain from other parts of the body that then create attendant problems in other parts of the body.
Getting the neck tended may or may not help because the part of the body affectung the foot appears to now be doing it's own independant problem. So you would need to address both problems.
It could be that back problem you mentioned.
I have problems with my feet when my Colon is having spasms.
The colon spasms have been severe enough to throw my lower spine out.
There are so many complex factors that contribute to pain.

Hi, according to my MRI, I have bulging at c3-4 and c4-5 with protrusion at c5-6 and c6-7 with moderate cord compression. I have weakness, numbness and tingling in my left arm and my left hand is completely numb. In the beginning, I just had the tingling and numbness in my hand. When I sit, the top of my left foot starts to tingle and it goes to sleep. I don't have any problems with my right side. I am scheduled to see a Neurologist on the 24th and a Neurosurgeon on the 1st of next month.
