Post Sandra , Hows your throat?

How is your throat, is it sore, how is your voice? How about your pain? Just curious being we are surgery mates. My throat is functional, but otherwise giving me a fit. Can swallow normal food if chewed very, very well. But some pills are still a problem. My voice is shot, hard to talk at all, very hoarse. My throat gets very sore alot and then a little better, sort of up and down. I to see a little improvement. I know... very impatient. Please tell me how you are doing.

    hey hon,

doing much better as time goes by... i can say that i felt true improvement start when i started eating my chicken noodle soup on friday... since then i feel much better despite still having throat problems.

my voice is starting to sound like my own and not a foghorn, but not all the time... if i try to talk too much i have to stop because it gets hard for me to breathe... i have had to learn how to hawk and spit just so i can breathe or lean against 6 pillows to sleep... if i don't clear my throat i feel like i'm going to choke on my own saliva... i have my humidifier close to my side of the bed and it truly makes a huge difference...

i still can't swallow pills and they taste nasty crushed up in water, but i don't wan't to cough any more than what i've had to because of the residual cold i had when i had the surgery... i might try to cut the percocet in half tomorrow or fourths and swallow them with ice cream...

had buttered noodles, salisbury steak and green beans last night but couldn't eat much of it because my sweetie didn't cook the noodles long enough and no amount of gravy softened them enough to go down without a fight... so i had some ice cream and tapioca pudding instead... life's rough, huh?

what helped me with the soreness of my throat was sucking on a lozenge and a peppermint lollipop every now and then... i tore half the wrapping off the lozenge and licked it every few minutes... never placed the whole thing in my mouth for fear that i'd automatically try to swallow it

hope you feel better soon sweetie
