Post Middle part of back cracking, aching in Morning

I have been noticing my thoracic or lumbar spine cracking like being adjusted by a chiroprator as I move alot during the day. Then when I wake up in the morning that part of my back is very sore for about an hour and then it goes away. I don't think this has anything to do with my surgery. It may be similar to the other post about maybe needing a new mattress. Any thoughts? Sleeping/ Laying in bed to much (not really used to that). Inactivity? More stress to that area because of plating/fusion (I HOPE NOT)? I've only been noticing it for the last few days, but I can hardly move when I first get out of bed, other than that, after about an hour I just feel the occasional cracking. It isn't painful. I have been looking down alot during the last few days trying to work on a hobby of mine, that may be it. It's not strenuous, just looking down alot. Hope everyone is doing well.

Maybe try streaching the back before bed, it helps me.

Thanks, It has improved somewhat, I just think it is from laying with my back propped up. Looked at all the post about needing new mattresses, made me start thinking.

    BDW,

I have the same thing. My PT told me it was caused by hypermobility in the joints connecting my vertebrae and my ribs. She suggested gentle stretching to strengthen and lengenthen the joints and ligaments.

    BDW P.S.

My husband and I just bought a new mattress for my futon since I am sleeping downstairs in the guest room due to no air conditioning upstairs right now and my staying up late due to pain.

It was expensive, but DH said it would be worth it since I will be having surgery soon and need a comfortable bed to recover in and won't have to climb the stairs.

    Appt with NS is tomorrow!

Thanks for the reply Lea, will try the stretching, and maybe a new mattress. Good luck with your appointment tommorrow, and up coming surgery. I will be praying for you.
