    Thumbs down Oooooh, I hurt my back

    Man, that makes me mad!! I'm not even sure when it happened; I think when I was lifting weights on Monday. By afternoon I knew I had pulled a muscle in my mid back on the left side!! ARGH!! I've never hurt my back before, man it hurts!! Last night I had heat on it and tonight I did ice. Gosh, I hope I'm better by Sunday because we're leaving for vacation!!

    -C-section 1990, 1992, & 1995
    -Shoulder pain since 2000
    -C4-C5 bone spurs causing central canal stenosis. Annular tear.
    -C5-C6 mild narrowing of canal.
    -C6-C7 disc bone spur and annular tear.
    -C7-T1 bone spur and annular tear.
    -No surgery;I'm not bad enough yet!

    Sooooo sorry you hurt yourself...hope you feel better soon...please be careful with the weight lifting...Hope you're doin' okay come vacation time!!

    • Nov,2002 MRI C4-C5 posterior osteophytic bar effacing ventral thecal sac, stenosis of neural foramina.C5-C6 posterior disc protrusion effacing VTS. Stenosis of neural foramina.C6-C7 posterior disc herniation effacing VTS.stenosis of neural foramina.C7-T1perineural cysts in both neural foramina.left convex scoliosis mid thoracic spine.wedging of T7. wedging of T5.degen.end plate changes at T8-T9. L4-L5 diffuse disc bulge effacing VTS.hypertrophy of facet joints,central spinal stenosis.L5-S1 posterior disc protrusion with associated tear of annulus fibrosis. hypertrophy of facet joints.S1-S2 Perineural cysts involving S1-S2 nerve roots.
    • So far have tried: meds,physio,acupuncture all to no avail.

    aw geez midge! quit that will ya?
    gentle stretching after heating for 20 minutes. and ibuprophen in like huge doses.........

    repair torn labrum 7/2000
    shoulder impingement 5/2003
    results are in, the fusion never fully healed. =/
    revision and an overhaul surgery set for June 27th

    C2-3, disc protrusion which contacts but does not compress
    C3-4, disc protrusion with bone spurs, neural foraminal narrowing.
    C4-5 large disc protrusion with bone spurs compressing the cord, severe canal stenosis
    C5-6 disc protrusion with bone spurs compressing the left cord, severe stenosis
    C6-7 disc protrusion with bone spurs but does not compress the cord, neural foraminal stenosis.
    C7-T1 is normal
    T2-3 disc protrusion which contacts but does not compress

    Conclusion:
    Severe canal stenosis secondary to disc protrusion at C4-5 and C5-6 with mild cord volume loss at these levels.

    -Surgery -NOT Advised waiting second opinion

    Ditto on all advice. I hope you have a great vacation. Just be careful when lifting/carrying luggage.
